The most significant feature that distinguishes these systems from split systems is the gathering of 2 or more compressors into a single unit. Central cooling systems are designed to meet the thermal loads (cooling needs) of multiple cooling points from a single outdoor unit. The system is designed to have the appropriate capacity according to the desired cooling requirement and consists of compressors with equal or different capacities. The electrical supply and control panels are located on the outdoor unit group, and all connections are completed at the factory during the production process.
The types of compressors that can be included in central systems are; hermetic piston compressors, hermetic scroll compressors, semi-hermetic piston compressors, semi-hermetic screw compressors, and semi-hermetic dual-stage compressors.
